Helping the Hermits of Dharamshala
Around the hills and forests of Dharamshala are many Tibetan Buddhist hermits. Some are ordained as monks and others are lay yogis or yoginis. They gather near Dharamshala because of the atmosphere of sacredness. There are many Buddhist monasteries and institutions of Buddhist learning and of course the seat of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The hermits live in shacks, cabins and sometimes caves. Though their requirements for worldly things are very little, they do face problems because they have no regular source of income other than occasional donations.
